If I remember my early web history correctly from when I was 15 and you bear with me in the minor details…

NCSA Mosaic had two children; Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer.

Netscape gave us Mozilla and her sister Firefox, the bright-eyed grad student kids. They went to school with KHTML’s offspring Webkit and her younger siblings Chrome and Safari.

Internet Explorer took the short bus to school. It’s sort of the retarded special-ed kid that nobody wants to be friends with but everyone has to support.
